Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Catania

Welcome to Sicily! Upon arrival at the airport, make your way to your hotel in the heart of Catania. An optional private transfer is available. Later in the afternoon, meet with your tour leader at the hotel. Afterward, enjoy a tasty welcome dinner. Overnight in Catania. Meals: D

Accommodation at the Il Principe Hotel, Catania, or similar

Day 2: Catania > Syracuse > Noto > Ragusa

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Syracuse to visit the largest and most powerful Greek colony in Sicily. Visit the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, the old town center of Ortigia, with its stunning Piazza Duomo and Cathedral.

Continue to the UNESCO city of Noto, the capital of Sicilian baroque. Walk through the city streets and admire the skill and ingenious creativity of local craftsmen. Noto’s Baroque architecture offers a plethora of elegant curves, floral weaves, perspective views, palaces and gardens, capitals, and cherubs that adorn the façades of churches and monasteries. At the end of the visit transfer to Ragusa, check in to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Day 3: Ragusa > Modica > Piazza Armerina > Agrigento

Breakfast in the hotel and visit Ragusa Ibla with its beautiful churches and the Ibleo garden. Then proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Modica, to admire its many baroque-style treasures. Afterward, stop to taste some local delicacies.

Departure to Piazza Armerina and visit the splendid Villa Romana del Casale — a building from the late imperial period and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the hotel in Agrigento. Dinner and accommodation. Meals: B, L, D

Day 4: Agrigento > Marsala > Saline > Palermo

Breakfast in the hotel and visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Valley of the Temples. Depart for Marsala, where you can observe the vestiges of the Phoenician, Arab, and Norman civilizations that once called this area home. Visit a local winery and indulge in a local wine tasting with lunch.

Continue to the salt pans. This area contains salt from the Mediterranean Sea and it is particularly rich in this area. Even today, the salt marshes represent one of the oldest salt mining industries in the world.

In the evening, arrive in Palermo. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and an overnight stay. Meals: B, L, D

Day 5: Tour Monreale

Breakfast in the hotel and departure to visit Monreale, with its impressive Arab-Norman cathedral and stunning cloister. Return to Palermo. This city preserves monuments of the Arab-Norman period, including the beautiful Cathedral, the fascinating Byzantine Church of the Martorana and the Palatine Chapel — a wonderful coexistence between cultures and religions.

Afterward, you will stop for a tasty surprise in a local bakery. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Day 6: Visit Favignana (Aegadian Islands)

After breakfast, meet your driver for a private transfer to the port of Trapani. Board a hydrofoil to Favignana. Favignana is the largest and most important of the Aegadian Islands. In the 1970s the island was named “La Farfalla” by the painter Salvatore Fiume, thanks to its butterfly shape. Enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore this incredible island. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight. Meals: B, D

Day 7: Favignana Boat Excursion

The day starts with your departure from Favignana Harbor as you embark on a relaxing tour of the island. The first stop of this tour will be in Cala Rossa — one of the best-known destinations in Favignana. Marvel at the wonderful tuff caves surrounded by blue and crystalline waters. Later you will get to Bue Marino, Cala

Embrace Azzurra, famous for its white-sand beach and crystal-clear waters. Visit Lido Burrone, where you will enjoy free time for a dip in the sea.

You will arrive on the southern side of the island, and enjoy a relaxing lunch on board your tour boat. After lunch, you can either go snorkelling or swimming, exploring the charming coves. In the afternoon, you will depart for Cala Rotonda for a swim and a coffee break (with local pastries), before returning to Favignana, after one last stop to Cala del Pozzo for a swim. Meals: B, D

Day 8: Exploring Favignana

After breakfast, enjoy the free time available to discover the hidden depths of this beautiful island. Walking around the two squares of the city, you will notice the charmingly traditional Mediterranean architecture, popular for its white walls and blue or green windows.

Do not miss the chance to have a swim in one of the splendid sea coves or, as an alternative, choose an optional boat excursion to Levanzo. Meals: B, D

Day 9: From Favignana to Trapani

After breakfast, meet your driver for a private transfer to the port. Here, you will board a hydrofoil to Trapani. Upon arrival, you will have a free afternoon in the lovely city of Trapani — also known as the “City of 100 churches”.

Trapani is popular for its impressive collection of fine local coral arts and crafts. Trapani’s origins are connected to Carthage, the most bitter of Rome’s enemies. You will have the chance to stroll the picturesque alleyways; make sure you look out for signs of the city’s Arab influence. Meals: B, D

Day 10: Trapani Departure

Enjoy one final breakfast at the hotel before your tour comes to an end. Optional private transfer to the airport is available on request. Meals: B
