Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Food & Wine Tour in Taormina

Upon arrival at Catania airport, you will be greeted by your driver. Your driver will then bring you to your charming hotel in Taormina.

As the day starts to cool down, your local guide will help you discover ideal places to get a real taste of Taormina. Savour its delicious food, soak in its vibrant culture, and meet the people who keep so many wonderful food and wine traditions alive. Just follow your expert guide through the town, eating and drinking like the locals.

Your tour will finish at around 21:30 in the heart of Taormina, allowing you to enjoy the town at night. Meals: D

Day 2: Godfather vs Mafia Tour with Light Lunch & Taormina Walking Tour & Greek Theatre Visit

After breakfast, meet your “mafia” guide in the lobby of your hotel and start a half-day trip to the small antique villages of Savoca and Forza d’Agro, located in the mountains. See the places where the most famous scenes of the Godfather movies were filmed. Find out the secrets of movie-making as well as true facts about the mafia. Take a refreshing aperitif in the most famous Sicilian bar “Vitelli” and enjoy a lunch of traditional seasonal food on the extraordinary terrace. After this, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel to relax and refresh, getting ready for sparkling Taormina at night.

After some relaxation, take an easy walk with your local guide who will unveil Taormina’s culture, architecture, and natural and political history, and tell stories about the Sicilian people and their traditions. Conquered by the Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Byzantines, and Normans, Taormina boasts a rich and fascinating history and a robust mix of styles. Discover little streets and hidden corners that give Taormina a special charm. Visit the Magnificent Greek Theatre and immerse yourself in the city. Meals: B, L

Day 3: Etna Trip & Lunch in Winery

Today’s adventure starts with a visit to spectacular Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy. You will first reach the base camp, Refuge Sapienza, located at 1,900 meters above sea level where you will see the marvelous Silvestri craters. There is free time to walk on the old lava flows before continuing your ascent up the mountain to 3000 metres by cable car and jeep to the main authorized craters area (optional). You will be accompanied by an English-speaking Alpine Guide.

After hiking, continue your tour to the panoramic winery located on a slope of Etna, famous for its unique volcanic wines and organic food. After a guided visit of the estate and cellars, you’ll enjoy a wine tasting (at least 5 wines) with cold appetizers and a light lunch. Drop-off to your hotel and free evening in Taormina. Day 4: Noto Walking Tour with Seafood Lunch in Marzamemi

After breakfast at 09.00 am, you’ll meet your private driver in front of your hotel and move to the magnificent town of Noto. Enjoy an easy guided walk in this UNESCO heritage town and taste its famous Modica chocolate. The tour then moves to the typical Sicilian fisherman’s village of Marzamemi. Here you will enjoy a traditional fresh fish lunch in a family taverna. After lunch, transfer to your charming hotel in Syracuse and enjoy this romantic town at night. Meals: B, L

Day 5: Ortigia Walking Tour

Meet your local guide in the city center and embark on a 2-hour walking tour of Ortigia, Syracuse’s old town. Admire the majesty of the Apollo Temple before heading down Via Cavour — one of the most colourful streets in Ortigia. Here, local artists and aristocrats like to spend their evenings. See the Archimede Fountain on the way to the city’s Jewish district which was founded in the 3rd century BC. When you reach Duomo Square, you’ll be at the heart of Ortigia. This is one of the most beautiful squares in Italy and home to the stunning Duomo and the Church of St. Lucy. Your guide will also share with you a lot about the lifestyle, traditions, and habits of locals. The charm of this town is unforgettable. Free afternoon and evening to explore Syracuse on your own. Day 6: Guided Visit of Temple Valley in Agrigento, Lunch and Transfer to Palermo

It’s time to say goodbye to Syracuse and move towards Palermo, passing the ancient Temple Valley on the way. Your driver will pick you up at your hotel and you’ll head to the Temple Valley for a guided visit of this UNESCO World Heritage site. After the visit, enjoy a fresh seasonal lunch in a local taverna and continue driving to your Palermo hotel. Time to relax and enjoy a free evening in the Sicilian capital. Meals: B, L
