Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Palermo

Welcome to Sicily! Upon arrival at the airport, you will make your way to your hotel in the heart of Palermo. An optional private transfer is available.

Accommodation at the Mercure Palermo Centro, Palermo, or similar

Day 2: Monreale Tour

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then visit Monreale, with its impressive Arab-Norman Cathedral and stunning Cloister. Return to Palermo and explore the city, which has preserved monuments of the Arab-Norman period. See the beautiful Cathedral, the fascinating Byzantine Church of the Martorana, and the Palatine Chapel — the best example from a historical-artistic point of view of the coexistence between cultures and religions.

Along with the tour, you’ll enjoy a visit to a much-loved local bakery. Meals: B, L.

Accommodation at the Mercure Palermo Centro, Palermo, or similar

Day 3: Palermo > Cefalù > Catania

After breakfast, head to Cefalù, a beautiful medieval maritime village with a Norman Cathedral. You will have time at leisure to visit the famous Mandralisca Museum. Afterwards, you will proceed to Catania, and visit the old town center. Here, you will have a chance to admire its baroque architecture which has earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

You will enjoy a walk in the center, passing through the old ‘Peschiera’ (old fish market) to reach the scenic Piazza del Duomo with its stunning cathedral and the lava stone elephant (symbol of the city). Stop in a bar to taste the local granita with brioche. Meals: B, L

Accommodation at the Il Principe Hotel, Catania, or similar

Day 4: Catania > Etna > Taormina > Catania

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel, and head out for a quick visit to a historic “fishmonger” (old fish market) before reaching Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe (3.350 m), and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterward, you will visit a beekeeping farm to see the honey extraction laboratory and taste homemade honey and typical products of the area.

Proceed to Taormina, famous for its natural landscape, marine beauty, historical monuments, and unforgettable views of the sea. Visit the fascinating Greco-Roman theatre, which offers a breathtaking view of Naxos Bay.

The day will end with a beautiful panorama of the stunning Riviera of the Cyclops — a legendary stretch of coast north of Catania. Return to the hotel in Catania. Meals: B, L

Day 5: Catania > Lipari

After breakfast, spend the morning at leisure before boarding a private transfer to Milazzo in the late morning. The tour now continues without a tour leader. Transfer by hydrofoil to the island of Lipari. After checking into your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Day 6: Lipari > Salina > Lipari

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel. The day will be dedicated to discovering the most beautiful coves of Lipari and Salina. After leaving Lipari Castle, Monte Rosa, and Canneto, the first stop will be at Santa Marina di Salina where the most important municipality on the island can be toured. Continue to the eastern side of the island to admire the crops of Malvasia grapes, the village of Capo Faro, and the town of Malfa.

Stop for a swim in the beautiful bay of Pollara. On the way back, you’ll admire the most beautiful caves of Lipari and you can enjoy a final swim at the Vinci beach, in front of the Faraglioni. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Day 7: Lipari > Panarea > Stromboli > Lipari

After breakfast at the hotel, head to the port of Lipari for a full-day excursion to Panarea and Stromboli. Before leaving Lipari, there will be a short stop at the pumice caves. Proceed to Panarea, to visit the Cave of Lovers and the prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese.

Time at leisure for lunch. The boat then continues to Stromboli, passing through the little islands surrounding it, and discovering from the sea the village of Ginostra. Enjoy time at leisure in Stromboli. Return to Lipari and overnight stay. Meals: B, L

Day 8: Tour Taormina

After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the port to leave for Milazzo by hydrofoil. Private transfer to Taormina, famous for its natural landscape, marine beauties, historical monuments, and unforgettable view of the sea and Etna.

Here, you will enjoy time at leisure to stroll along the charming medieval streets of the center and go shopping, buying some of the best homemade products on the entire island. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Day 9: Taormina Departure

Enjoy one final breakfast at the hotel before your tour comes to an end. Optional private transfer to the airport is available on request. Meals: B
