DAY 1: ROME ARRIVAL

Benvenuti a Roma! Upon arrival at the airport, you can either make your own way to your hotel or opt for a private transfer, which is available upon request. Take the day to explore and enjoy the city at your own pace.

DAY 2: VATICAN TREASURES & ROME FOOD TOUR

After breakfast, meet your driver for a private transfer to the Vatican, where your professional guide will lead you through the magnificent Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries, Gallery of Maps, and Raphael Rooms before experiencing Michelangelo’s breathtaking masterpiece. Continue to St. Peter’s Square and view the impressive exterior of St. Peter’s Basilica before enjoying free time to explore Rome at your own pace.

At 5:15 p.m., make your own way to the meeting point to meet your local food guide. Savour the authentic flavours of Rome on a small-group walking tour through Campo de’ Fiori, Trastevere, and the historic Jewish Ghetto. Visit lively food markets, traditional shops, and artisan gelaterias while sampling Roman favourites such as pizza bianca with mortadella, supplì, pasta, and seasonal specialities including carciofo alla giudia or fried zucchini flowers.

DAY 3: ROME TO POMPEII & THE SORRENTO COAST

Experience the history, beauty, and Mediterranean charm of southern Italy on an unforgettable journey from Rome to Pompeii and Sorrento.

Your adventure begins with an early-morning pickup from your Rome hotel, followed by a comfortable coach journey through the scenic Italian countryside. After a short stop along the way, continue south to Pompeii, the extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled beneath Mount Vesuvius.

Join an expert licensed guide for an immersive 2.5-hour tour of the Pompeii archaeological site. Walk along original Roman streets, explore remarkably preserved houses, bakeries, and temples, and admire ancient frescoes and mosaics. Learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 buried the city beneath volcanic ash, preserving an unparalleled glimpse into everyday life in ancient Rome.

After exploring Pompeii, travel to beautiful Sorrento and enjoy spectacular coastal scenery, welcoming streets, and classic Mediterranean charm. DAY 4: CAPRI & THE ENCHANTING BLUE GROTTO

After breakfast, board a ferry to the glamorous island of Capri, one of Italy’s most captivating Mediterranean destinations. Weather and local conditions permitting, enjoy a boat ride to the famous Blue Grotto, where sunlight enters an underwater opening and illuminates the sea with a magical blue glow.

After visiting the Blue Grotto, explore Capri at your own pace. Wander through its charming streets, browse elegant boutiques, admire the spectacular island scenery, or relax at an inviting café. Free time is also provided for lunch at your own expense.

Later, return to Marina Grande and board the ferry back to the mainland. Continue to Sorrento for dinner and another relaxing overnight stay. Meals: B, D

Please note: The Capri excursion operates from April 1 to October 31. For departures between November 1 and March 27, enjoy breakfast at the hotel followed by free time to explore Sorrento at your own pace.

DAY 5: SORRENTO TO ROME – RETURN TO THE ETERNAL CITY

After breakfast, enjoy some free time to soak up Sorrento’s coastal charm one last time. At approximately 1:30 p.m., transfer to Pompeii and board the coach for your return journey to Rome. The departure time will be reconfirmed locally by the Carrani Tours staff.

Arrive in Rome at approximately 6:00 p.m., leaving you time to continue exploring the magnificent landmarks, lively piazzas, and timeless beauty of the Eternal City. Meals: B

DAY 6: ROME DEPARTURE
