This church is recognized as one of the most important places of worship in the world, where Catholic and Orthodox traditions beautifully blend.

As you explore Bari Vecchia, you’ll find a charming atmosphere where time seems to stand still. Women sit outside their homes, preparing the typical orecchiette (local pasta), while children play in the streets, laundry hangs in the sun, and the warm hospitality of Bari’s inhabitants shines through.

Elegant and refined, Lecce is one of the most cherished artistic cities in Southern Italy. Here, the Baroque style predominates and takes on a local connotation known as “Leccese Baroque.” This style is characterized by exquisite stonework in Lecce stone rather than lavish gold decorations. The façades of churches and historic buildings appear as if crafted by skillful hands.

As you stroll through the old town, you’ll come across charming craft shops, from papier-mâché artisans to local pastry makers. You’ll have the opportunity to taste a delicious local specialty at one of these bakeries: the “pasticciotto,” a pastry filled with custard cream.
