DAY 1: WELCOME TO MADRID

Welcome to Madrid! After your arrival at the airport, meet and greet your driver where you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your first day in the city at your own leisure.

DAY 2: MADRID

After breakfast, enjoy a panoramic tour of Madrid and journey through the history, art, and culture of Madrid through its streets, icons, and monuments. Discover the essence and avant-garde of historic and modern Madrid. See the places that no visitor should miss on a tour that runs through the historical and cosmopolitan areas of Madrid including the Puerta del Sol, Royal Palace, Prado Museum, Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium of Real Madrid, and much more!

In the evening, join your fellow travelers for an authentic welcome tapas dinner at a local restaurant. Meals: B, D

DAY 3: MADRID > BURGOS > LA RIOJA > BILBAO

After breakfast, depart towards Burgos. Upon arrival, enjoy time at leisure to visit the 13th-century gothic Cathedral, the third largest in Spain after Sevilla and Toledo. Continue to Haro, located in the heart of La Rioja, one of the most famous Spanish wine regions. Among the vineyards, will visit a traditional and family-run wine cellar. Enjoy a wine tasting of the world-famous Rioja Reds. Afterward, depart to Bilbao. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant to taste the famous “pintxos”, the Basque Region's name for tapas. Meals: B, D

DAY 4: BILBAO > SAN SEBASTIAN > BILBAO

Today enjoy a Bilbao city tour and discover its many treasures. Time at leisure for you to explore the esplanade where The Guggenheim Museum is located in order for you to admire this modern architectural building. Continue to San Sebastian in the afternoon, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour of this marvel-style bourgeois city, seeing the extraordinary landscape dominated by the bay and the magnificent La Concha beach. We will approach Mount Igueldo, to contemplate the marvelous views of the city. Meals: B

DAY 5: BILBAO > CASTRO URDIALES > SANTANDER

After breakfast, depart for Asturias, known as Green Spain. Proceed to the old fishing village of Castro Urdiales and enjoy time at leisure to explore on your own. Afterward, depart to Santander, a port city located between the sea and the mountains. Meals: B

DAY 6: SANTANDER > SANTILLANA DEL MAR > COVADONGA > OVIEDO

Journey to Santillana del Mar, one of the most important historical artistic towns in Spain. It contains architectural treasures such as the Collegiate of Santa Juliana, a Jewel of Romanesque Architecture in Cantabria. Continue to Covadonga, where you will have free time to see the Sanctuary and the Grotto with the patroness of Asturias our Lady of Covadonga.

In the afternoon, depart to Oviedo, a series of hills the beauty of Saint Maria de Naranco Church, a Jewel of the pre-Romanic Asturian architecture. Enjoy time to explore the many UNESCO sites of Oviedo. In the evening, join your fellow travelers to dine at a traditional cider house. Meals: B, D

DAY 7: OVIEDO > MONDOÑEDO > LUGO > SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Today's journey begins towards the Galician lands. On the way to Lugo, take a short stop at Mondoñedo, Time at leisure to visit the 13th-century Cathedral and indulge in the delicious “Mondoñedo cake”. Continue to Lugo. Time at leisure to explore the Roman remains that still remain today. We finally approach Santiago de Compostela, declared a World Heritage Site of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, and the burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James. Meals: B

DAY 8: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Join a Santiago de Compostela city tour where you will see the main square called Obradoiro and the Cathedral (entrance included) dedicated to the Apostle James the Great. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure exploring the narrow cobblestone streets and the many monuments of the city. Optional dinner with Queimada experience. Meals: B

DAY 9: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA > RIAS BAJAS > PORTO

Depart towards one of the most marvelous areas of Galicia, the Rias Bajas (Spanish Fjords). Continue to the Ria de Arosa, where you will enjoy a cruise, with a tasting of the typical wines and mussels. Travel to the Portuguese border to reach Porto. Located along the Douro River in northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest European cities and is proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Meals: B

DAY 10: PORTO

Take a guided sightseeing tour of Porto. Admire the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building, and Santa Clara church. Afterward, enjoy a Douro River Cruise and discover famous Port Wine Cellars with a wine-tasting experience included. Rest of day at leisure. In the evening, dine delicious Portuguese cuisine while enjoying a Fado show (optional). Meal: B

DAY 11: PORTO > CIUDAD RODRIGO > SALAMANCA

Depart back to the Spanish border to arrive in Salamanca. Shortstop and free time in Ciudad Rodrigo, surrounded by medieval walls and dominated by the Alcazar. Continue to Salamanca, a University City of great architectural and artistic wealth. Meals: B

DAY 12: SALAMANCA > AVILA > MADRID

Before the journey back to Madrid, visit the impressive walled city of Avila. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the beauty of the city dating back centuries. Once back in Madrid, join your fellow travelers to enjoy a final Farewell Market experience dinner. Meals: B, D
