DAY 1: WELCOME TO PROVENCE

Bienvenue en Provence! Upon arrival at the airport or train station at Aix-en-Provence make your way to your hotel. An optional private transfer is available. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore on your own.

DAY 2: FOODIE TOUR OF PROVENCE

Feel like a true Provençal while discovering the capital of the region. Your expert guide will introduce you to the local food secrets and walk with you to the colourful stalls of distinctive provençal markets, and taste local specialities!

Learn more about this charming town's history through its savours and local people. Starting from Mirabeau avenue, lined with its famous fountains, admire the facades of beautiful Renaissance private mansions, and learn about the local painter Paul Cézanne. Enjoy a black or green tapenade toast, grab a piece of cheese, savour provençal wine, or try some Nougat, the favourite local sweet. After the walking tour, enjoy the rest of the day exploring on your own. Meals: B

DAY 3: DISCOVERING THE LUBERON

Spend the day discovering the small, charming villages of the Luberon. Meet your guide at a meeting point in the heart of Aix-en-Provence and drive along the scenic roads of the Provence countryside roads to reach Isle-sur-Sorgue. Here you can walk along the canals and stop at the many antique shops looking for rarities. Go up the river Sorgue and find its source at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, where you can visit the caves where the river emerges.

Continue to Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in the whole of France. During the summer, when the lavender is blooming, there will be a stop at the Senanque Abbey, one of the most photographed attractions of the whole Provence. Conclude your excursion with a visit to the villages of Bonnieux and Lourmarin. Meals: B

DAY 4: AIX-EN-PROVENCE TO AVIGNON

Today catch your high-speed train to Avignon where you will arrive in about 20 minutes. In the afternoon, meet your guide for a comprehensive visit to Palais du Pope. Meals: B

DAY 5: SAINT-RÉMY, LES BAUX DE PROVENCE & PONT DU GARD

Start your journey from the charming Saint Remy de Provence, a lovely and picturesque village. The circular 14th-century wall protects an old Gallo Roman interior. Van Gogh painted here Starry Night, and Nostradamus was born here.

Next is Les Baux de Provence, a village situated upon a rock 245 meters high, with an outstanding historical pedestrian center. You will find the museum of santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful 16th-century homes, the lovely St Vincent Church, and adorable romanesque buildings.

Finally, reach the famous and remarkable site of the Pont du Gard dated from the first century and classified by UNESCO. This construction is the most impressive and well-preserved part of the Roman aqueduct, which supplied water to Nîmes. Overnight in Avignon. Meals: B

DAY 6: AVIGNON DEPARTURE
