Itinerary

DAY 1: ROME > MATERA

Departure from Rome at 8:00 am. Route on the motorway with comfortable stops to reach Matera, the City of the Sassi is known for the historic Sassi districts, a recognized World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The area, populated since prehistory makes Matera one of the oldest settlements in the world. Check-in, lunch on your own, and in the afternoon visit the old town on foot. Accommodation and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: MATERA > CIVITA > ALTOMONTE > COSENZA

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Civita and visit of the village among the rocks, an interesting place of medieval origin, custodian of the culture and traditions of the Albanian community (Arbëreshë) in Italy. Continue to Altomonte, a village in the heights of the Province of Cosenza that stands out for its Norman Tower, Piazza San Francesco, the heart of the village, and the Church of Santa Maria Della Consolacion. Next, departure for Cosenza. Meals: B

DAY 3: COSENZA > PIZZO CALABRO > TROPEA > COSENZA

After breakfast, departure to Pizzo, the center of the famous Coast of the Gods, known for being the city of ice cream, where you will have time to visit the village and delight yourselves with the unmissable Tartufo di Pizzo, a typical ice cream of the area Free time for lunch. Continue to Tropea, a popular tourist center that fascinates visitors with its picturesque alleys and its terraces more than fifty meters high above the crystalline sea. Overnight at the hotel. return to Cosenza.

DAY 4: COSENZA > PRAIA A MARE > DIAMANTE > PAOLA COSENZA

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Praia a Mare and boarding on a private boat for an excursion off the coast where you can admire the Arcomagno, a majestic rock arch that holds a dream bay, and the Dino Island, the largest of the Calabrian islands on the Tyrrhenian Sea, with its splendid caves full of stalagmites. At the end of the visit, transfer to Diamante and have free time for visiting this village, famous for the murals that adorn the historic center. Lunch on your own.

Continue to Paola, an important town by the coast, and visit the Sanctuary of Saint Francis of Paola, dating back to the 16th century, which guards the relics of the patron saint of Calabria on a hill surrounded by vegetation. In the end, return to Cosenza. Meals: B

DAY 5: COSENZA > SALERNO > ROME

After breakfast, departure in the morning for the return. Stop in the city of Salerno and visit the historic center of this interesting town founded by the ancient Romans with the name of Salernum, whose origin dates back to the end of the 2nd century B.C. Enjoy time at leisure before returning to Rome. Meals: B
