ITINERARY

DAY 1: VENICE > BOLOGNA > MODENA AREA > LA SPEZIA

Departure from Piazzale Roma in Venice bound for Bologna and free time to visit the symbols of the city, such as the imposing Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda towers. Continuation to the surroundings of Modena to taste the balsamic vinegar, one of the most famous Italian products in the world. Departure for La Spezia and hotel accommodation. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay. Meals: D

DAY 2: LA SPEZIA > CINQUE TERRE > LA SPEZIA

Breakfast at the hotel and departure from the port of La Spezia to start the boat excursion to the Cinque Terre, one of the most pristine areas in Italy, a long stretch of rocky coast rich in bays and beaches bathed by a crystal clear sea and perched villages, included in 1997 by UNESCO in the "World Heritage" list. Arrival by boat in Porto Venere and continuation for Vernazza and Monterosso, the largest and oldest village in the Cinque Terre, divided into two parts, the old city and the new one. Return to La Spezia. Free time for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B

DAY 3: LA SPEZIA > PISA > FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Pisa. Visit of the city of the Leaning Tower, a work of architecture unique in the world located in Piazza dei Miracoli. Early in afternoon Continuation to Florence. On arrival, visit of the city historical centre passing through symbolic places, such as Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Hotel accommodation. Free for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: B

DAY 4: FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to explore Florence also called the “Cradle of Renaissance”, one of the most famous cities in the world, with its unique artistic and cultural centre. Possibility of optional tours, such as the visit of the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery or an excursion to immerse yourself into the scents and colours of the Chianti district. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay. Meals: B, D

DAY 5: FLORENCE > SAN GIMIGNANO > SIENA > ROME

Breakfast at the hotel and at the scheduled time departure bound to San Gimignano. Free visit of the small medieval city declared patrimony of humanity by UNESCO. Continuation to Siena and guided tour of the city built around Piazza del Campo, famous throughout the world for its architectural beauty and its particular “shell” shape. In the afternoon, departure for Rome and arrival in the city centre in the evening. Meals: B

DAY 6: ROME > NAPLES > POMPEII > SORRENTO

Departure from Rome to Naples. Upon arrival, walk around the city centre, discovering Piazza del Plebisicito, Palazzo Reale, Galleria Umberto I and Teatro San Carlo. Lunch in a local restaurant to taste authentic Neapolitan pizza. Proceed to Pompeii for the guided tour of the archaeological excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and buried it, preserving it under a sea of volcanic ash for nearly 1700 years. Enjoy a stop in a cameos and coral shop. Transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and characteristic fisherman’s village of Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures of the city. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7: SORRENTO > CAPRI > SORRENTO

Breakfast in the hotel and departure in the early morning for the port of Sorrento. Meet the guide and sail to Capri by hydrofoil. After arriving at the island, enjoy a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). Continue by minibus to Anacapri and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then reach the legendary Piazzetta, the heart of the island. Return to the port to head back to Sorrento. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 8: SORRENTO > POMPEII > ROME

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at your leisure. Meeting point at the hotel in the afternoon and transfer to Pompeii where you will join the bus to return to Rome. Arrival in Rome in the late evening. Meals: B
