This is the Southern Portion of Ontario Sarracini’s famous Bella Italia Grand tour, and is perfect for exploring well-known destinations like Rome, Naples, Pompeii, and Capri as well as discovering new favorites like Catania, Caltagirone, and Agrigento. During this eleven-day tour of thirteen destinations, you’ll be immersed in the archeology of Neapolis and Oritigia, stroll through Agrigento’s 2,500 year old Valley of the Temples, and enjoy a farmhouse lunch in the shadows of Mt. Etna – among other truly Italian experiences!

Itinerary
Day 1: ROME
Upon arrival in Rome, enjoy your day at leisure. (D)
Day 2: ROME
The Forum, Coliseum and St. Peter’s Basilica are a few of the attractions included in our amazing city tour. (B/D)
Day 3: ROME – MONTECASSINO – POMPEI – PALERMO
Visit the Abbey in Montecassino. After a tour in Pompeii we travel to Naples for our overnight ferry to Palermo. (B/L)
Day 4: PALERMO – Monreale – palermo
Enjoy a guided tour of Palermo and Monreale. Following lunch, we will visit the Sanctuary of Saint Rosalia. (B/L/D)
Day 5: PALERMO – AGRIGENTO − CALT AGIRONE
After visiting the Valley of the Temples, we continue to Caltagirone for a tour featuring the staircase of Santa Maria. (B/L/D)
Day 6: CALT AGIRONE – SIRACUSA – CATANIA – ACIREALE
Visit the archaeological park of Neapolis and Ortigia. We then tour Catania followed by the evening in Acireale. (B/L/D)
Day 7: ACIREALE - MT. ETNA – TAORMINA - ACIREALE
Visit the “Silvestri” craters at Mt. Etna followed by lunch in a typical farmhouse. An excursion to Taormina will follow. (B/L/D)
Day 8: ACIREALE – SORRENTO
Experience the scenery of Italy’s south as we drive through Calabria. Lunch at an “AUTOGRILL” en route to Sorrento. (B/L/D)
Day 9: SORRENTO – CAPRI – SORRENTO
Today’s highlight: a trip to Capri. Enjoy an optional excursion of the “Blue Grotto” before returning to Sorrento. (B/L/D)
Day 10: SORRENTO – ROME
Return homebound. (B)
