Itinerary
Day 1: PALERMO
Arrive in the Sicilian capital of Palermo and transfer to hotel. Enjoy the free afternoon to explore
Dinner is included at the hotel. (D)
Day 2: PALERMO
Morning departure for Monreale to visit the Cathedral, a national monument of Italy and one of the most important attractions of Sicily. In the afternoon, we are back in Palermo with leisure time to explore the many attractions.
Dinner at your hotel and overnight in Palermo. B / D
Day 3: PALERMO – ERICE – MARSALA - AGRIGENTO
A full day awaits us after breakfast, beginning with a visit to the small mountaintop medieval village of Erice. Next we visit Marsala, the seaside town, famous for it’s sweet wine. Travelling south, we pass by Mazara del Vallo, a fishing port overlooking the Strait of Sicily and the closest to the African Continent.
Our final stop today is Agrigento which includes a o visit the Valley of the Temples, which once formed an ancient Greek colony and one of Italy’s archaeological treasures. Check-in at your hotel, dinner and overnight . B / D
Day 4: AGRIGENTO – NOTO – SIRACUSA - TAORMINA (Giardini Naxos)
Following breakfast, we depart for the city of Noto with its recently renovated Cathedral and Baroque architecture. We also visit Siracusa, which includes a visit to the Greek Amphitheatre , the Ear of Dionysus and the Roman Theater. Our last stop before Taormina is the “island” of Ortigia, rich in Baroque and Medieval palaces and churches. In the late afternoon we arrive in Taormina. B / D
Day 5: MOUNT ETNA - TAORMINA
Today we visit Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy. We return to Taormina and the rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner is included this evening. B / D
Day 6: TAORMINA
After breakfast , transfer to the airport. B
